I. If you know anything of the making of a note
from Hugh Cunningham (the complt) to Daniel Tur-
nipseed (the deft.) for the sum of $956.99/100 dated 2d March 1844,
state whether the note appended to this Interrogatory marked G.
is the note referred to? What was the consideration of said
note as you understood from the parties, if on fact you un-
derstood anything?

II. Did or did you not hear a contract made
by Cunningham & Turnipseed in which the said
Cunningham agreed to give Turnipseed a certain a-
mount for the hire of said slaves for the space of twelve
months? If so, was not the note hereto appended & marked G.
given fo the hire of said slaves for 12 months.

III. State fully if you know any other matter fact
or thing that may elucidate this case further or be material to
the subject matter of the same or benefit to the respondent.

I. Were you present upon a certain oc-
casion when Hugh Cunningham (the complain-
ant in this suit) made a bill of sale to a negro to
Daniel Turnipseed, the respondent? IF so, examine the
bill of sale hereto annexed, & marked with H, & state whether
this bill of sale is the one alluded to in your answer to the
first part of this Interrogatory? Were you the sub-
scribing witness to the same, & is the name E. T. Bush,
subscribed thereto in your handwriting? Who wrote the
said bill of sale & at whose instance was it written?
