James Cunningham

James Cunningham of Pickens County, Ala.
aged twenty five years, being duly sworn, answers
and deposes as follows:-

I 1. To the first Interrogatory he says.
Ans.- I am.

II. 2. To the second Intg. he says.
Ans.- I have examined said negroes, and know them
to be likely and healthy. Their ages are correct, I think,
or nearly so, as set down in said Interrogatory, except
Peter, who I think is about 55 years old, and Phebe, who
I think is about 50 years old. I am not prepared to give
an estimate of the value of said negroes for March, 1843;
nor am I prepared to give their value at the present time.

whom is dead. The other is about a year old, and is
worth $100 - His name is Sidney. Mary has had three
children since that time, two of them being at one
birth. One of those children is dead. The others
are named John, something over two years old, worth
$150--and Thomas, a few months old, worth $100.
Phillis has had two children, named Frances, over
two years old, and worth $150--and Levi, about two
months old, worth $100.
