Dear Sir!

With my New Years greetings to you a. your wife, I like to tell you that it grieves one to the heart if my happy [connection] with you should fade and die out. Ireland a. its cause is all to nicely in my mind as to not be glad to have a friend like you in that country.

I have awaited since springtime and again given up to hear from you. My little debt to you I despatch to day (3 sh), delaied as I hoped to have the book I asked you to find for me. Now it may seem, you could not find it. But by chance let me know a little of your life and about Ireland. Yours ever Å M. B.
