Bylaws of the Corporation of
Nacogdoches, April 1851
Bylaw 1st Regular meetings of the Board
Alderman shall be holden on the first Mondays in each
and every month at ten o clock A.M
untill otherwise provided and special
meetings may be ordered by the Mayor
or in his absence or inability to act by any
three members of the Board, the place
of meetings until otherwise provided
shall be the office of the secretary of the
Board. and any member failing
to attend shall be fined one dollar
for each failure provided that such
fine may be permitted by a vote of the
Board on a reasonable excuse for
absence being tendered

By law 2nd
Five members of mine shall constitute
a quorum to transact bussiness [business] [illegible]
a less member may organize and adjorn

By law 3rd
The Mayor of present shall preside
at all meetings, but in his absence
any member may be called to the
chair and perform the duties in the
board required of the Mayor. He shall
with the secretary sign the minutes
of each meeting after the same shall
have been approved by the Board.
