Minutes
Adjourned regular September session of
the City Council of the City of Nacogdoches
at the City Hall 4 o'c(lock) p.m. Sept 12th 1910
Mayor Matthews presiding , Alderman Floyd,
Olon, Kiley and Mckinney being present.

The question of water meters was taken up and
after a thorough discussion the following
resolution was passed.
Be it
Resolved by the City Council of the City of
Nacogdoches that this following order be passed.
It is ordered by the City Council that all water
consumers and patrons of the City water works,
be and are hereby required to install water
meters in connection with their water works
To register water [illegible] by them; such meters
to be forwarded by the City water works department
on the following terms
First, Consumer may purchase meter by paying the
sum of nine+ 50/100 dollars ($9.50) each therefor, meter
to be owned installed and kept in repair by the
consumer,
Second, Consumer may purchase meter by paying therefor
the sum of Eleven dollars ($11.00) in quarterly
installments of Two + 75/100 dollars ($2.75) City to
install such meter and consumer to own and keep
same in repair.
Third, Consumer may rent meter for which a monthly
rental of Twenty cents (.20¢) is to be paid by
consumer only to install and keep some in repair.
It is for the ordered that the rate for water
shall be as follows;
Forty cents (.40¢) per thousand gallons for the
first five thousand gallons used in any
one month, Thirty cents (.30¢) per thousand gallons
for the next five thousand gallons and Twenty
cents (.20¢) for the balance used in any one
month;
Which shall be payable at the City Hall of the
City of Nacogdoches on the first day of each
month
The wayer works Superintendent shall read
all meters on the first day of each month,
