The mayor appointed on the above committee the following alderman Blount, Floyd and McKinney.

Mr D K Cason presented a petetion from residents in North East part of City requested a sanitary sewer for that portion of the city

After discussion the Council agreed to accompany a committe of citizens and go over the ground and ascertain the exact needs of the locality at 9am 2/8/11

On motion the ody adjourned.

Minutes Regular March session of the City Council of the City of Nacogdoches at the City Hall 3 O'Clock pm March 7th 1911 Mayor Matthews presiding with the following Aldermen present Floyd, [illegible], Orton and McKinney. Minutes of last session was read and approved. Fire Marshall Doughte reported three fires for the past month. Reports of Mayor, Marshall, Treasurer + Tax Collector were read by the Secretary and on motion the [illegible] were accepted and ordered filed. On motion the finance committee was instructed to audit the Treasurer books and make a [illegible] report of expenditures and reciepts for year [illegible] April 18th 1911. The following accounts, to the account of $716.01 were approved for payment.

from near the Center of the reservoir [illegible] of using the race, thus getting purer water without impairing the service. He further suggested that a minimum of $1.00 per month be charged consumers of City water with a rate of 25 [cents] per thousand gallons.

The City attorney presented the reports of the Nacogdoches Light and Power Co together with correspondence Conserning same, with recommendation the the reports be rejected and referred back to the Company with request that same be made to conform with the least as prescribed in Acts 30th Legislature, Reg. 217 Chapter 117.

On motion by Alderman Blount, duly second by Alderman Floyd and carried, the report of the Light Co was rejected and referred back to the Company with request that same be made in accordance with recommendations of the City Attorney.

Alderman Floyd and McKinney reported that they had called on the Light Co and secured an option on the plant for $31000.00. They were not willing to reduce their rates in any case but offered to replace four of the small lamps on Main Street in the business district with 200 C.P. lamps at the same rate the City is now paying for the Street lights provided the City will enter into a five years Contract.

Action on the matter was deferred for the present.

On motion, duly seconded and carried the session was adjourned to 2 O'C P.M March 15 1911.

Minutes: Adjourned regular March Session of the City Council of the City of Nacogdoches at the City Hall 2 O'Clock PM March 15 th 1911. Mayor Mathews presiding, Alderman Floyd, Orton, Blount and McKinney being present.

The resignation of E M Audis as night Marshall was read by the Secretary and on motion duly Seconded and carried the same was accepted to take effect at once.

The Marshall was instruced to employ a man to act as night marshall until the Council sees fit to employ a regular man.

The following account was allowed E. M. Audis, $23.35 ( by virtue of the above ) The following ordinance was presented by the Mayor and on motion, duly seconded and carried, the same was adopted as read.

An Ordinance

To abolish the office of assessor and collector of taxes of the City of Nacogdoches. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Nacogdoches :-

Section One ; That the office of assessor and collector of taxes of the City of Nacogdoches be and the same is hereby abolished;.

Section two ; That this ordinance take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval ;

passed and approved this 15th day of March A.D. 1911.

A communication from L. B. Mast with reference to the City Park property was read by the Mayor, selling forth his claim to the same and offering the City the same of $ 456.25 to clear his title.

City attorney for adjustment. Mr Hubbord appeared before the body with reference to the annual report of the Light and Power Co whch was rejected at its recent meeting. Mr Hubbord stated that it was impossible for him to comply with request of City attorney in making the report , in as much as his records have not been kept to as to Segregate the different items.

The matter was reffered to the City attorney for proper adjustment.

On motion the body adjourned.
