St. Eval in Cornwall. During June he completed a gunnery course at No. 1483 Gunnery Flight, and later the same month converted to Stirling bomber aircraft at No. 1651 Conversion Unit, Waterbeach, Cambridge, afterwards returning to No. 199 Squadron, which had moved to Lakenheath, Norfolk. From this base as Air Gunner of Stirling aircraft he took part in a further four operational flights being an air sea rescue search, and raids on Bordeaux in France and Nuremburg (2) in Germany.

From a sortie against this latter target undertaken on the night of the 27/28th August, 1943, the aircraft failed to return to its base and all the crew including Flight Sergeant Parker were classified as missing. Later information was received from an official German source through the International Red Cross, that he had lost his life, and was buried in the Civil Cemetery, Fuettersee, in the District of Scheinfeld, Bavaria. In due course his death was officially presumed to have occurred on the 28th August 1943.
