According to a voluntary non-profit organization, Graves Family Association (gravesfa.org), Jeremiah White Graves is a direct descendant of Thomas Graves (see gravesfa.org/gen169.htm). Thomas Graves arrived in Virginia in 1608 and was one of the original stockholders of the Virginia Company of London and one of the settlers of Jamestown.
Jeremiah was the son of Jacob Graves (1779-1854) and Frances ("Fanny") White (@1781- 1866), who was the daughter of Richard White. Jacob lived in Orange Co., VA.
Jacob Graves was the son of Isaac Graves (1741-1818) and 2nd wife Elizabeth Cowherd (1751-1791).
