Capt John Hunt

John Hunt (1780-1841), son of David Hunt (1745-1826) and Nancy Richardson Hunt (1748-1822) married Sally Tate Brown of Bedford, VA. They had 10 children. The fourth child, a daughter, was Nancy Richardson Hunt (1809-1889) who married Jeremiah White Graves. Many of the other children figure in the diaries.

Buried in the Hunt Cemetery in Renan, VA, are David Hunt and wife Nancy Richardson Hunt along with John Hunt and wife Sallie Tate Hunt; daughter Mary Hunt Moseley; daughter Sarah Whitlock Hunt Coleman, her husband Capt George William Coleman, and their daughter Sallie Coleman (d. at age 20 months); son John Doran Hunt, his first wife Martha B. Daniel Hunt (d. at 20 years), and his second wife (and sister of Martha) Susan E Daniel Hunt (d. at 23 years); daughter Lucy Ann Hunt Clement, her husband Charles J. Clement, and their daughter Nancy Katherine Clement Hurt; Julie Catherine Daniel (younger sister of Martha and Susan Daniel--d. at age 18 years)
