William C. Shelton

Description

Shelton (1814-1869) was a school master at the Greenfield School, next to Greenfield Baptist Church, east of Gretna VA. He never married. He was sued for not distributing money from an estate he was handling, and he was in danger of losing everything. He killed himself in the Chatham Clerk's office in June 1869.
