Amanda Myrtalis Cleoptra Cook Graves (1849-1938) married Jere Graves May 8, 1867. Amanda was the granddaughter of Thomas Cook who owned land originally owned by Henry Chiles and patented January 12, 1746. Thomas Cook left this land to his son William H. Cook. He, in turned gifted the 950 acres to Jere and Mott. On that land the Chiles River View Plantation Cemetery in Hurt VA is where several Chiles family members and Cook family members are buried, as well as: Jeremiah and Amanda Graves Thomas Cook Graves (1871-1912), son of Jeremiah and Amanda Minni Johnson Graves, wife of Thomas (1872-1899) Ella G.
