October 31 - November 13, 1846

1846 Oct 31. Raining nearly all day

Novr 1st drizling rain nearly all day
— 2. ground too wet to Plow Fed sho
emaking. Henry gone to saw & Gras[ty] mill
cleaning out stables & spining

3. Henry carried another large stack to
saw mill Fed shoemaking Lila spins
alse & Ann fencing etc etc wrote to Mr
Dove
to saw the Log sent yesterday into Hhd
Heading & the one carried this day into flooringPlank
out of the Hhd Heading I am to return Mr Dove
74 feet of the same sort lent Spring

4th Sent to Saw mill & Gras[ty] Mill to day

5 Plowing up Land for wheat

6 Plowing up land for Do

7 Raining a little nearly all day Henry
went to shop & Mr. Wm Dews

8 Still cloudy Fed & Henry1 or 2 days this weekshoemaking
this evening it cleared off Just before sun
down

9th Sent another good size log wrote to
Mr Dove to saw it intofull¾ squared Plankedges

10. Sent 2 Logs to saw mill this
[da]y wrote to Mr Dove to saw first
card into weatherboarding & next
into squared edged Plank getting anext
[skirting?] on sides — Fed shoemaking
began to Grub in new ground
yesterday & at it to day —

11 Plowing & Bushing inn wheat in
Big field & Halling Stalks etc

12 Bushing & Plowing in wheat in big field
Choping round stumps & etc etc etc
Put up Steer mark, to fatten several days ago

13th nearly done the square by middle
laid off first to sew in wheat
& choped round the stumps etc etc
