July 14 - 29, 1846

1846 14th July. Plowing fresh ground Corn
& hilling up Lot Tobacco, I am Toping Tobacco
Lila Hilling up cotton alse working out
Garden & Hilling up Peas & Irish Potatoes

15 Plowing Corn in Fresh ground. balance
Finishing hillingupLot Tobacco & wh[e]at they begin
on yesterday Potatoes Peas etc etc,

16th hilling Branch Tobacco —
Plowing corn yet & nearly done laying
by, Raining this morning beautifully -

17 Finishing laying by Corn thisyesterdaymorning
but Little rain, - Stacking oats this
day & Hilling up branch Tobacco

18. Raining to day more or less all
day - Working at branch Tobacco

19. Raining all night & Still raining
this morning ground quite wet, the
Lord be thanked — an elegant time
for corn etc etc etc etc

20 Went to Court Rained a little choping
new ground Tobacco & Toping all we have
over Plowing up ground for Buck Wheat

21st Sewed Buck Wheat & Hilling up
second yrs ground Tobacco —

22nd Hilling up same & Halling leaves
to stable —

23rd Started to Milton with F. White to
School this day. got there 24 & Returned
home 25th July 1846 Started the Oats &
worked out our Tobacco while I was
done alse choped some in corn

26 Sunday & cloudy —

27 Monday Toping Tobacco choping Corn etc

28 getting & Beeting apples, at night
Rained hard ground quite wet

29 Beeting apples & treading out wheat.
