Brumfield	December 23, 1850 - January 11, 1851 1850 Decr 23rd Halled Tobacco from fresh ground barn to prize Barn, & Packed it down to strip 234rd Halled leaves till 12 oclock then fixed up cow shelter Rake in up manure & waggon & Cart Halling wood till night Fair & Cool, Killed 8 Hogs yesterday the 23rd 25th Stayed at home myself my wife went to Mrs Hunts 26th went to see Rob^t & Mrs McCullock Grastys Mrs Farmer etc etc as School Commissioner - etc 27 Rode all day as School Comr. & finished 28th Raining this morning moderate weather 29th cleared off cool 30th Halled wood & Cut in new ground Henry has been sick most one week 31st Finished Thursday & friday in Christmas getting last of Indigent children as S.
