April 10, 1851 - April 22, 1851

1851 Aprl 10th Have been coltering & Hilling
Halling Rails at stony point & making up
fence Plowing cotton Patch etc Rained
Tuesday - (Hester, & Celam,) yesterday etc,

11th Fencing & finished at stony point & Plowing
for corn there - cloudy sent Fed to mill 1 Bbl

12 walked to meeting at Strait Stone on SaturdayLaying off to Plant Corn & Hilling in ground new

13th Raining & Hailing a little very cool

14th carried sheep to stony point ground very wet
moving Gate makingLane etc Fencing about House
Made Bridge & working on the Hill Lains towards
Piled Our manure first Last week —

15. Sewed flax Planted Sweet Potatoes got 2½ Bus
Plowed up Hard spots on Hill & in the
evening began to Plant Corn at stony point

16th Planting corn at stony point again -
& ground so wet we cant finish there, planting
in fresh field,- quite cool weather moderated

17th Hilling in new ground 3 Plows fixing corn ground

18th Planting corn in cover field & at stony point
Federick Halling 2 Loads of manure to stony
weather still Looks unsettled little cloudy
Nearly done planting corn at Mrs McCullocks

19th Planting corn at Stony point & at mountain
field & finished at both places Planting this
evening Lost at home by Granary, Planting
Snaps Pumpkins simblings etc left corner above
Gate for Peas; Planting Goober Peas —
cleared off not much Rain weather moderate
We will get nearly done Planting corn & hthis evening except some
wet spots in fresh ground etc etc etc
Planted nearly 4 Bushels Corn

21st Very cool wind from N. E. for 2 days Just beforenight
yesterday wind shifted to S W & no frost to hurt last night
but cant tell how it will be to night,-
done nearly planting corn Sweet Potatoes etc etc
at Mrs McCullocks, - grown Heifers 3 steers

22nd Turned out this morning 4 young Heifers 2 [m?]
the Bull, Bet suckled & Rose 14 in all
