February 25, 1857 - March 3, 1857

1857 Feby 25 Potaotes to day taking down Tobacco
Lugs to prize Halled Load straw to Mr Neals
Halled Sewed Collard Seed lettuce & mustard
began to Rain about 11 Oclock & we went
to striping Tobacco, tho it did not rainmuch

26th Halling Tobacco from back of Garden
to new prize Barn & old one to Strip
Expect to cover Irish Potatoe Patch to day
Jerry & little Henry gone to mill big Henry
& Claborne Plowing Sandy Fed & Kitty
malling in new ground, clear this
morning & moderate,-

27 Sent little Henry to mill with wheat 2
Bushels for flour Jordan gone to Mr Millers
plantation
to Roll Logs Henry & claiborne
Plowing alse Buck & Jerry Smith shrubing
Corn Land fine weather a little cooler
found shoats in Mr Neals field —

28th. Raining a little this morning; cooler than
it has been malling & shrubbing in corn
field,- Henry & claiborne plowing at
Stony pint. Mr Wyatt at work here all
the week On Porch floor dressing Post
& flooring Plant — Our Hogs pesters us
don't come up one Dead –

March 1st clear cool windy day —

2nd Malling in new ground, began to
Plow in Lot & so cold & windy stoped & went
to malling & halling wood. very cold &
windy ground freesing hard - Netty hurt
some how last night or yesterday -
covered & fenced in Plant Bed at new ground

3rd All malling to day not quite so cold as yesterday
Buck Halling wood somewhat cloudy & cold
Sewed Plant Bed slash Tobacco seed Turnip seed
[water stain] - there ground hard frozen except Top
