September 26, 1857 - October 2, 1857

26th Sept 1857 Cutting Tobacco next to Crews
& Lot to day ¬– – – fine weather Cut
in fresh ground next to crews 950- Lot 260 stacks

27th Went to Mrs Tuckers funeral failed to go to
Sunday School

28th We are Pulling fodder to day mountain
& stoney pint & expect to finish - clear fine
weather at this time Malissa at work [out?]
Finished pulling & cut tops in evening
at night put in some Tobacco of Nannies & Jerrys
in old prize Barn Daubed weaving House

29th worming & succoring Tobacco at new ground
in morning. Then Cutting Tops trying to finish
Raising primings in new prize Barn -
clear fine morning - - one calf has his leg
Broke some how

30 Finished cutting Tops & tied up nearly
all. Tyed up Blade fodder & tops last
night till after 9 Oclock - a little
Frost this morning - quite Cool

31 Cutting Tobacco to day at new ground
wormed in new ground in morning opened
Blade fodder Tyed up Tops & Blades
at night but Did get done, Smart
Frost this morning Oct

1st Oct Housing Johns Branch
Tobacco Tobacco worming & succoring
new ground this morning & then we
will cut at new ground —

2nd Housed fresh ground Tobacco in new Barn
next to Mr Crews this morning began at 3 Oclock
Stack fodder at stoney pint 2 stacks & finished
Cutting at new ground Cut nearly 4000 stacks
in all worming & succoring over & Halled
Load from new ground for new Barn & still
not full
