September 17, 1859 - October 1, 1859

17th Sept 1859 Firing tobacco here & Cutting
Tops, windy day -

19th went to Court we are cutting Tops & finished
Halled & cut wood clem worming & succoring
Tobacco cloudy & like for Rain,

20th. Firing Tobacco: Halling wood etc

21 Rained all day nearly

22nd Succoring Tobacco. Rounding & Jointing
Shingles - fixing scaffold etc cl[e]ared off

23rd Finished worming & succoring Tobacco
gathered Peas Halled Cold wood & Rock
for chimney went to Cutting & shrubing
Mrs Hunt left here to day gone to CH
Henry & Chumney nailing on shingles & fix
Table etc - I went to aspen Grove & Mr Neals

24th Henry halling Logs to Whiteheads Mill
& Halling Plank from mill Balance
cutting & Shrubing for Corn - made fodder
stack from yesterday -

25th went to Green field meeting to day

26 We are stacking our Tops this morning
warm moderate weather
We have 6 six 3 - for sheeting 3 for squared Edge forflooringLogs at Whiteheads carrd
this time & had 2 there not sawed before

27th Halling Logs again to day for sheeting.
worming & succoring Tobacco overseer
getting rafters for stable & Joice,-
warm moderate weather -
We have 12 Logs at Whiteheads saw Mill to be
sawed into Squared Edged full ¾ thick & some into
sheeting plank. Sent down to Plantation & got 2 Turns
Corn & 1½ Bushels wheat for Horses

28 & 29th Cutting Tobacco over & stack Tops thisweek

30th Cutting over finished, cut first time 950 stacks
here second time 1150 stacks making 2000 stacks
here & they have cut about 4600 at aspen Grove

Oct 1st Saturday hanging Tobacco out of Lot.
