Brumfield	January 6, 1860 - January 23, 1860 1860 Jany 6 to 14th I went to Louisa started 5th bro^t home 6 negroes to my children & had them checked by commissioners chosen by my children & they carried them on home this day & Jerry has cut & malled wood for ^Bed Plant in new ground Halled leaves 10 Loads & wood & striped Tobacco when Raining several days -, - found all well when I got home soon this morning from republican 15 Stayed at home beautiful day 16 Beautiful day Halled Cut & malled I went to Carry Dan^l R Hunts Fanny home to Davis & to Plantation & Mr Lovelaces 17th Sent Henry after Stack fodder at Grastys Rained in morning some striped Tobacco ^awhile In evening went to new cutting & malling Jerry halling — 18. Jerry Started back to Mr McDaniels to school, little Henry with him We are fencing back of Peach Orchard then for new ground Cutting & malling etc Hung up our meat to day as follows midlings Hung 67.
