1863 March 6 Planted Irish Potatoes by Kitchen, worked
in Garden yesterday Lila & Kitty. Planted Peas & Beets
Thrashing Oats Plowing been Cutting malling
& Halling wood yesterday I went to P.O., - etc.
Bro John Prindle stayed here last night I sent to
Lynchg for me by him for [20g?] selfIndigo Salts for old place
& 2 [lbs?] Copperass for ourselves – & he further agreed If
I would Send 2 Bus. Oats to his House next
Tuesday morning he would let me have 2 Bus.
winter Oats for them which I expect to do. –

7th Plowing & shrubing corn field & cleaning up
Coultering in new ground to day –
- I went to meeting to day rained a little to day.

9th. winding Oats. Malling wood & Rails fine day.

10. This morning turned cool & hailing & Raining –
started to plowing & cleaning up in new ground
& rain stoped us, Sent Smith to Mr Prindles to
swapt some oats say 2 Bus. winter Oats we get

11th Rained all night cleaning off our new ground

13. Cold & windy to day getting wood began yesterday
but had to get wood to day Mr B. Cut hooks out of steers
Eye this morning - very cold day –

14th Still very cold Coltering in new ground plowing for
corn malling & Piling wood in Piney new ground

17th. We sewed 2½ Bus. winter Oats got from Mr.
Prindle Sewed Oats at Keens to day began to
Plow there yesterday fencing Halled up stack
fodder from creek to day – Sent 4 Turns Corn
for myself & 1 for Neal to day. Sent 1 Oak Log
& 1 Turn Corn yesterday & brought the meal lasthome
Mr Neal & Kitty fencing pulling up bars etc etc
finished shrubing corn field –

20th Finished sewing Oats at Mr Keens yesterday 12 BusBus
it Rained & Hailed before we finished, Sent 4 Turns
corn for meal & 1 for Neal in evening we done but
little to day sent to P.O Raining hailing & snowing real
