Log Heaps in new ground this morning
Beautiful weather, I have been complain[ing]
Several days tho getting a little better Halled
up 3 stacks Oats to get out for seed,
Mr Doss came here to night from Franklin
brot. letters from Sallie, Sent Sallie 110 lbs
Bacon, Some Peas cotton Dress stockings & a little
Brandy – weather moderate to day

23rd, Triming trees Plowing & Raking in new
ground cloudy & like for rain, I am
going to Riceville after nails for Garden
Billy at work on Garden came here yesterday
evening after dinner & went to work
tho quite unwell, work till evening this day & stoped.

24. started to Plowing claiborne burning log heaps
& cleaning up in new ground I made Pig Pen
in Lain & it begun to Rain & Raining very hard
Billy here doing nothing much, weather moderate
It rains every few days pretty near this winter
Rained nearly all day branches very high indeed

25. Sunday cleared off last night & this morning
very pretty weather, Bride gone out from house

26. Getting out 3 stacks Oats to Sew this day halling
Straw to Cow Rack & oat Straw to Cutting House

27th. Plowing 2 Plows, claiborne cleaning up in
new ground moderate weather 1 one more
sheep Died, Turned out my sow with 5 Pigs
Raised here with her first Pigs I went to Chalk Level

28th Plowing 2 Plows for Corn fresh field
claiborne Halling wood Chips etc out of
new ground, burning leaves etc —

March 1st. Began to colter in new ground
Plowing 2 Plows for corn in fresh field
John J Lain Came fix my screw to work B[faded]
Billy Came & went to work Thursday morning came
night before
