[…] got up, cleared off quite cold this morning
Saturday 1 Decr 1866 Housing corn all day &
did not finish till after night housing
what we shucked friday
2nd We stayed at home all day
3 Shucked & housed Corn & finished what
we had halled up cloudy & like for rain
4th. Rained last night hard, Cutting
& Halling wood & then pulling Corn
& Halling – up cleared off very pretty
5 Halled up 2 Loads Corn yesterday &
4 Loads to day. making 6 Loads I went to Starkey after that
clear pretty weather
6 Cutting & Halling Corn 4 Loads to day making
8 Loads, Sent Henry after my Sole Leather to Starkeys
8 Finished Halling up Corn about the 8th
Getting some wood halled up some fodder
10 Invited some hands to help me shuck Corn
Several came Mr E G L did not help at
all Mr Starkey Came & John Keatts
11th Shucked again & finished Mr Starkey
Mr Marshall came & finished a little
in the night
12 put away shucks getting a little wood
& Housing Corn to day – Cold weather
sent $30 by Mr Bybee to Lynchg to buy Guano
2 Doz Eggs 1 Bus flax seed & 2 Turkeys to
sell & lent him 2 new Bags
13th Finished Housing Corn, made about
60 Bbls good & 12 Barrels nubbins & got
1 Load wood Put 3 Barrels good & 7 or 8 Bbls
nubbins in big Corn House on Hill &
after getting all I lent out got 65 or
Barrels good Corn in House on Road.
all shattered & 4 Barrels nubbins in
Granary marked 7 Pigs 1 got out not
making marked & Put up 1 Hog more
in garden to Kill & 1 Pig for House pig
