1871 March 11th Nannie & me went to meeting
S. Stone, cloudy in morning —

12 Raining hard till 12 or 1 oclock

13th. Burning our Brush in new ground
this morning & nearly finished Marten
Malling rails Sam Gilbert & Tucker went
to fixing land for oats, Mr Moses came
this evening to all my hogs & put them
up this evening Mr Creasey & Jno W
Rosser here to day, clear night,
Jacob Graves came back this evening
went up to his place —

14th Sewing Oats Sam Plowing with
Bill Marten with Steers Bushing the
other side of Branch & I Sewing for Sam G – oats

15 3 all 3 Horses Plowing for Sam
Gilbert till 12 oclock & Sam Tucker till
late in evening. Martin fixing plow
till 12 oclock & then Malling, Sam Gilbert
Ben & Lewis Hauling up oats to get out
tomorrow for me & Martin to Sew
Wind Blows Very hard to day —

16 Sam Tucker plowing for oats below Shop
Burnt Broom Sage Sam G. Martin Smith thrashing
out oats Ben & Lewis & they come out so tough that
we stoped Sam G. Hauled wood & put straw in rack
Cloudy & like for rain my white old sow
had 5 pretty pigs about a week or 10 days ago.
all I had spayed is doing well by JM Moses & Jacob

17th Still cloudy & warm Sewed 2½ Bushels below
Black Smith Shop turned over with 2 Horses &
Bushed them in & Plowing up towards fodder
Stack, to Sew. Rained in the evening & stoped
3 or 4 oclock Sam Gilbert Malling till
after 4 oclock then we went to Striping
Tobacco in new prize Barn thundered & Rained
till night planted some Beets few Potatoes etc
