1871 July 15 Finished weeding Lot Tobacco, -
Robert Choping around stable & old prize Barn
then choping in corn by Bars left Side path
in Johns field Martin & Doron laying by corn
by Spring - 2 little showers Rain this evening

16th Went to Sunday School did not rain

17th. Edmond Tucker went to Mill for himself Sam
Martin & I Sent 2½ Bushels corn to mill for meal
Plowing finishing by Johns's branch laying by & then
on branch & creek & finished laying by corn &
went to new ground & fresh this evening. Doron
& Ed went down to old Henrys to get Elvira
to live with Sallie Whitehead Robt began
to Hill up Tobacco in fresh ground & new ground
after Martin Plowing it [in pencil:]Planted corn^aboveabo

18th. Hauled up stack fodder this morning
still plowing in new ground & fresh ground

19th Yesterday I went to shop got my Horse Shod
before went to old place to See about Boar
Parham Lewis Shot & Killed went to the Mr Bookers
Tuckers etc & then to Mr Lewis & he confessed that
he Shot & Killed the Boar for pulling up or Rooting
up his corn last Spring Rained in evening

20th Did not get done plowing new ground
& fresh ground Doron finished Lot with Bill
quite clear this morning & cool,
Tom here this morning cutting hay getting up &
Stacking Oats after finished plow new ground
& Second yrs ground put up 3 stacks Oats

21st Working in Tobacco in morning & then
finish Stacking oats & Hauling Rails to
fence them in etc — 22nd fixing fence
Water rack on Creek etc till 12 oclock
