had a Hoe & Hitting the cow with it & Broke off
the Cows Horn Heavy with Calf & we have been
looking for her to have it, Kit & Sarah brot the Cow
Sock home with one Horn off & she bleeding [very]
fast from her Horn [w?] the SKin off took the [Horn]
away & bound [???t] Tar & spts Turpentine to it & [we]
Could not stop it for some time & I thought She
would bleed to death, toward night it ceased [from]
bleeding so much & I am afraid she will yet
die, Kit & the Plowers caught the Said Boys [b???]
& Knocking her as if they were trying to Kill her
Tom Martins Son had a long stick, & I expect the
Cow will loose her calf -
14 My cow I hope is better this morning. Davy hauled
[??? Palings] before he started to Hauling leaves
15 Kit Sarah & Mary Plowing in Oats this morning
15 The Pantry Key & the Kitchen Key one would
unlock both, we took off the Lock off the
Kitchen Lock & the Smoke House Locks & the [Smoke]
Lock & put that one on the Kitchen & put that on the
Smoke House & the one on the Kitchen put on the
smoke House & took one [??] the Keys in the bigest
little Box in my Secretary wraped up & marked -
& the Smoke house Key & Pantry Key is the Same, [??]
16th My Wife went J R Whiteheads last Friday 14th
March. Very pretty day to day Sunday quite windy
yesterday & to day & Turned little Cooler, & clear
17th . Still clear weather this morning. Kit [Mary] &
Sarah Sewing Oats Davy Hauling leaves on Lot
Milton Raking
18th Took up my Irish Potatoes this morning very Sound
good Kit & Sarah Plowing in Oats Mary Plowing up
1 Square in Garden Sewed Peas & Beets & some [?????]
Seed in Garden Set out Some Beets for Seed
Mr Mattherly finished Garden yesterday Rained {?? ???] to day
