1876 July 2nd I went to Sunday School, good many there scholars and teachers
3rd July 1876. Hauled up a [Earning?] Tobacco load or stack fodder.
Cloudy & Hot & dry. Edmond hogs [pesters men?]
every morning, Edmond weeding Corn in
fresh ground above road, clear day after morning
4th began to cut Oats yesterday & Cuttining to day
till 12 Oclock. Peter & Jimmie Plowing, Edmond
[& etc?] weeding Corn in fresh ground. Rained
a little here this evening. bees Swarmed yesterday
Kate helped me. Swarms again to day. Peter
helping me & Kate Misses Frankin tilled up Greens
& cotton & [etc & etc?]. I went to Mr. Farthings got Nannies
[share?] [c/2?] soled to day, paid him 25 cents
5 July dog days begins Jimmie & Peter Plowing
in big field laying by Corn Edmond finished
[?] weeding Corn in fresh ground above road
fresh ground [__ding?] getting dry Jimmy Plowing Tobacco in
new ground. Edmond Hilling up new new ground.
Tobacco. Very hot & dry. Misses Frankie Hilling
Sweet Potatoes by shuck house & working cotton.
Edmond & Peter culling oats by Bee House a
little while & then Plowing, Hilling up tobacco.
Peter Plowing & laying by corn.
Peter laying by corn til 12 o'clock then culli[ng?]
Oats. Jimmie Tobacco till 12 o'clock, Edmd
& all went to Oat field culling Oats. Very
Hot weather about this time frame. Rained thi[s?]
evening. very good Season. Peter went down to Jack
Perkins & got some Tobacco Plants Come back this
7th Morning & did not quite get over Edmon
Replanted his new ground & lot but got about
3000 lot to Whole Plant & replant [6000?] in old fie[ld?]
Went /to culling Oats again about 11 o'clock. Very Hot. -
No rain here to day thermometer about 90 degs
8th Finishing Culling Oats by 12 Oclock then plow[ed?]
Corn Tobacco & Edmond Hilling up tobacco.
