1869 Novr 18th John Keatts began to work on Hou[se] at Mountain Spring Hired Sam Roper to help Cut Logs Hired Sam Gilbert & Sam Mattherly help Mr Keatts finished the House & my My Cash Book will Show what I paid, $3.50 Mr Keatts has been at work on the house & Mountain Spring ever Since Christma till this 20th Janry 1870, Since X is my time above 3 weeks, what I have paid this time I put at $10 which he will have to pay [page damaged] lives there 1876 agreeable to Contract & build & Cover the Kitchen

1869 Oct about the first this month I hired Jorden Pa[lost in margin] to fallow up Lot & we Sewed 3 Bushels toll Come from Shields Say 3 1 Bushels

Oct 28th Sewed toll Come from Hodnetts 2 Bushels & By the side of that Sewed the Lot ½ Bushel more of toll Come from Irbys] 6 sewedB[lost in margin] Sewed in ps] of Tobacco Land where we had where this year 1869 Bushels making in all sewed
