A good day. Jim & Ben
went to Long Island and got
some beet pulp. Josie got dinner.
I planted some potatoes slips.
Henry helped me.

This evening Elsie & Hellen
came. Elsie brought her baby.
Josie kept it while Elsie
gathered some cherries.
I am sorry that I was
not at home.I would of bin
if I had knowed they were
coming. Mollie Reynolds and
I and Henry went after
some strawberries. We found
some.

I have not seen any of
Marvins people to day. I allways
miss them.

Bright Leaf lists Elsie's children as Ralph Oliver (b November 19, 1915) and Willard Anges (b November 3, 1920). I find it surprising that Julia would refer to the two-and-a-half year old Ralph as a baby. Could the dates in Bright Leaf be wrong?
