Wednesday, March 17, 1920
A good day. The men folks sawed wood for Owen & commenced for Marvin. Josie got dinner. I got breakfast & milked the cows and churned then went to George Blairs. I had a good day. Isla was not at home. I missed her. They were all busy. Mrs Hutcherson went to see Mrs Allen this evening. I got a letter from Effie Brumfield this evening.

Thursday, March 18, 1920
A good day. The best that we have had this year. The boys finished sawing wood for Marvin this morning then put on the plant bed cloths. Jim Emerson passed here to day. Henry & Edna went to school to day. I got dinner. Josie ironed. This evening we all went to Carries a while. I come by the turnip patch & cut some sallet for dinner to morrow. It looks like rain tonight. I do hope it wont rain.

Friday, March 19, 1920
A rainy day so no one could work out of doors. The boys staid at the shop most of the day. I got dinner. Had saled the firs that we have had. Josie ironed most of the day. Henry went to school. Lucius Graveley quit teaching yesterday. Ben made the children a waggon to play with.

Saturday, March 20, 1920
A clear windy day. Ben & Jim & Henry split wood at the wood pile. Jim started to Chatham this evening. He started walking. Ben & Henry went to Strait Stone this evening. They walked. A man come here last night and ask to stay all night. Ben let him stay and Josie fixed him supper. I kept the baby while she was at it. He said he had walked from Greene Burough NC. Josie & I have set by the fire all that we could. Henry bought him a watch at Strait Stone.

Sunday, March 21, 1920
A bright cool day. We all staid at home until after twelve. Ben & Josie & the children went to Lee Brumfields. I went to Marvins. George Blair and Denia was there. Marvin & Aubra Brumfield & Hugh and Fred Hutcherson & Reese Smith all went on the mountains. Josie has sick head ache tonight. Franklin is in my bed and I am going to let him stay there.
