Thursday, August 9, 1923

A good day. The men
suckered tobacco. Nellie
picked some grapes and
made some grape jelie.
I got the most of the
dinner. This evening
Ben went to Strait
Stone. The children and
I went with him.
We bought some sugar
and a few of other
things.
Heard that Lee was
defeated in the elect
tion. I am sorry
but some one had to
be left.
