Dear Mother:
Have none of your recent letters here so it is impossible to answer them. But as I know you always worry about me this should set your mind at ease. This week I am at a rifle range and am having a wonderful time. They think they are keeping us busy but is is wonderful. We have not watches, get plenty sleep and have good food. Beside that we can get all the beer we want in the afternoon. I feel better right now than I have in a long time. In fact I feel so good I think I'll tell you where I have been, that is if you promise not to worry for there is no reason to worry now. I was at Okinawa for awhile but am in the rear now and plenty happy.

I hope you folks at home are well and feel as good as I do at the present. Next week I hope to have a few pictures taken. I'll send them alon as soon as possible.
Not much else to say except you will probably not hear from me again until I get back to the ship. Give my best to all. Tell Pop to slow down and take it easy. Hope you enjoy your vacation as well as I am enjoying min.
Your loving son Georgie
