Dear Mother:

Had two letters from you today and one from Marion. You are still asking questions which I have already answered in my last two letter but you have no doubt not recieved them as yet. There are a few new ones though so I'll get right to them. As for my going to the rifle range. It is not unusual, all Marine are supposed to go to a range one a year. This was my first time in two and a half years. It's just to keep in shape. Now for an old one. I have told you all I can about what happens and where we go. What you read and hear on the radio is old stuff. I'd like to tell you more but I don't make the rules. Now for

a big question. Who told you we were with the Franklin when she was hit? I'd like putting out "bum dope." We were no place near her. In fact I had not seen her for more than a month before she was hit. To end the question and answer page for tonight, no I do not have A Tree Grows in B'Klyn. You wrote once a long time ago that you had sent it but it never arrived.

Now the addition section. In yesterdays letter I asked you to drop in and see a ship mate of mine. I gave you the address but not his name. It is Tony (Anthony) Boffa, 321 - 57th St. He'll no doubt be able to assure you that I am alright.

I would surely like to have the script of the radio program about the ship. The docotrs name is Mac Art. There seem to be a hole in our correspondence. You say

Edna and Pete are in Fla. The first I knew he was in the states was yesterday when Anna wrote that he was still home. How about bring me up to date.
