Dear Mother:

Well here I am again, with a cup of "Joe" in one hand and a pen in the other. "Joe" is coffee to you. Where did I get it. Well I don't believe I ever mentioned it but we have a hot plate and two "Joe" pots in the compartment. We have coffee when ever we want it. We also have Juke box and about one hundred and fifty records. All in all it makes t hings a little more pleasant. We did have a Silex or two but they didn't last long.

In your last letter you asked if I had recieved the clipping on the Stevens case and the Empire State building. I have already written that I had recieved the ones on the building. Don't believe I mentioned the Stevens clipping. Well I have gotten them both.

That seems to cover all the news for this time. There is nothing new on transfer or discharge. As I said before I'll let you know anytime I find out anything.

Give my best to everyone. Tell Pop I am very proud of him. All the reports I have on him have been very good. Hope you enjoyed your vacation very much.

Don't get excited about the typing. We have one in our office here on the ship. Typed up a few envelopes today to save time and make it easy on the mailman. I'll write again soon.
