Dear Mother:

Well here I am once more. We are still in Brisbane but are leaving for Melbourne on Monday. I have no idea how long we will be there. Since I last wrote I have recieved just two letters from you and they were mailed on Aug. 27th & 29. They were written while you were at Alpin House on the second half of your vacation. So you see there really isn't anything at all to write about.

We have not had any new mail in almost a week now. It makes things pretty dull. We have no news about tranfers at all. If we don't hear something about replacement in the next few days they are going to wire headquarters in Washington for them. I don't know how much good it will do but it will be a step in the right direction.

I had intended to write Anna and Al tonight but I really don't feel like it. Maybe tomorrow. I had a letter from May Murphy last week. She sent me a pciture and asked me to send it to you when I was finished with it. I meant to send it in my last letter but forgot. Please forgive me.

Give my best to everyone. Tell Pop to keep on being a good boy and not eat too much. I want hime in shape for a big party when I get there. Take care of yourself and don't worry about a thing.
