Dear Mother:
All about me things are taking place that will change the whole course of the war. We haven't been told this but from what I see and feel I know it. But of course as much as I'd like to I can't tell you what I see or just what I feel is going to happen. I know you understand.
I still don't know how long it takes for my letters to reach you so this one will have to serve a special purpose in case later letters do not reach you in time. I want to wish you, especially you and all the folks a very very Merry Xmas. I won't be able to be with you this year but do not feel that I am unhappy. Of course I would like to be home but I know there will be many, many more in years to come so I can spare just this one. I hope you will do things the way you always did. Then when the day comes I can sit and picture you all and I'll feel as though I had been there. I want you all to feel as though I had too.
I won't be able to send you an Xmas present right now so the picdture I sent will have to do P.F.C. G.D. Willis, Jr. 6th

until I can find something suitable. Don't forget to tell me everything that happens over the holidays. It will be pleasant reading.
I have not recieved a letter from you for quite a few days. I hope mine is not delayed the same way. I write you as often as possible so if you don't get one some days don't feel too bad. It is the mail and not that I have forgotten to write you.
I'll have to close now Mom. I'll write again in a few days. Give me love to all.
Your loving son Georgie
