Q 36 With what other Company or Companies was
it consolidated, and when, if you know?

ground that it is not pertinent cross-examination: also
that there is better evidence of the question sought to be proved
by the question.

A. It has been consolidated into different
Companies. If you want a history of the Com-
pany you had better get the record.

Q 37 By Mr. Cohen.[underlined] You don't recollect with what
other companies, or when consolidated?

A. No sir. I cannot give you the dates when
the different consolidations took place.
But the Company or Companies with which
that Company was originally consolidated
were again consolidated with the Companies.
I think there have been four (4) consolidations
with the Company, in which the property
and interests of the Company were merged.

Q 38 And it has been consolidated with other
Companies from time to time?

A. Yes sir.

Q 39 Is the Company now known as the Central
Pacific Railroad Company the successor of
the Central Pacific Railroad Company of
California and the various Companies with
which it has been consolidated?
