A. I believe he was.

A. I cannot say that I ever saw
any certificate of stock in his name
but my impressions are that he was
a stockholder.
Q. 133. Who was the President of that Corporation?
A. I dont[don't] remember who was the first
President of the first Corporation. I think Mr.
Charles Crocker became President of it.
Q. 134. What was the business of that Corporation
if you know?
A. The business was very general — of
a general character. According to
my recollection its articles of in=
corporation provided for its doing
a very general business.
Q. 135. What were its relations to the
Central Pacific Railroad Company?
A. It had different contracts with the
Central Pacific Railroad, for the
