Q. 183. How was it for the Contract and
Finance Company?

A. I dont[don't] know what he may have
done for that.

Q. 184. Were you not accustomed to is-
sue certificates of stock in the
name of "C. P. Huntington, Agent",
from time to time, and send to
him in New York?

A. No sir.

Q. 185. You did not?

A. No sir; we were not accustomed to doing that.

Q. 186. Wasn't done on a great many occasions?

A. No sir.

Q. 187. Did not C. P. Huntington at the time of
the consolidation of the Central Pacific
Railroad Company of California and other
companies, in 1870, make a report
accounting for the stock that
had been issued to him as
"C. P. Huntington, Agent", and return
a portion of the stock that was unsold?

A. It is possible.

Q. 188. You dont[don't] know whether that is
the case or not?

A. I have no recollection of it, but stock, I think,
was issued to him at one time, and for him to sell
