A. No sir; Some of this paper which
they transferred in the settlement
was merely receipts for the per cent=
age paid in on original subscrip=
tions of the stock of the Com=
pany. Some was full paid stock,
or stock that had been traded
off for material at the East,
as was the stock that Mr. Brannan
had. It was stock which he
had received in a trade for ma=
terial for the company.

rights or equities upon them than
