Q 1. Did you ever have any conversation
with any of the plaintiffs in these actions
about their sale of stock to C. P. Huntington?

A. No.

Q. 2. When was it your saw the plaintiffs
that you mentioned you were acquainted
with, in California?

A. I never saw any of the plaintiffs
in Cal[written above the line] excepting young Agnew, and that
was I think, "and that was I think"[crossed out]
in the year 1867 and 8.

Q. 3. Have you seen any of them since
the 21st of April 1870?

A. I dont[don't] think I have. I may have
seen Mr. Aspinwall when he was out
here: but I never had any conversation
with him about these matters, I dont[don't]
recollect of seeing him even.

Q. 4. Did you know of the fact of these
different plaintiffs being stockholders
of the Central Pacific Railroad Company
of California, at the time they were
stockholders?

A. Yes sir I think I did [caret]"but" only by seeing
