firms for the amounts of the checks paid
by them to the Railroad Company — $51163.05
and $163,997.09, respectively — as shown in voucher
number 1492, dated August 31, 1869.

A. If I remember correctly, at the last ex=
=amination I declined to answer the same
question, or a question tantamount to the same
thing, under advice of counsel.

Mr. Bergin: The same advice holds good
yet.

The Witness: Under the same advice, then,
I decline to answer it now.

to the questions that have been heretofore
submitted to you?

A. I have not. I have not had any time
to prepare any answers to any of the questions.

and Finance Company vouchers already
