fill the vacancy. Do you re-
member that meeting when
you were elected director?

A I think that meeting was
held in the office on Mont-
gomery St.

Q Was anything stated
as to what the terms of the
settlement were?

A No Sir. I do not recollect of
any. It only occurs to my
mind that there was such
meeting at that time, but
the terms of the settlement I
do not recollect. No "term"[crossed out] statement were mentioned in my presence
of any settlement.

Q Do you remember any
thing about why that should
be charged to the Company
instead of to Colton?

A I cannot explain it any
further.

Q Either the stock was
bought for the Company, or it
was bright for Colton; If it
was bought for the Company
what became of the stock?

A That $2500 was no doubt
