charge is posted with the
San Francisco ledger as Salary
of Henry $270. His salary was
only $250 in coin.
A Well he received his ex-
penses besides.
Q You think it is probably
for salary and expenses?
A Yes sir. It must have been
a draft that he gave some-
where on the road, possibly
Omaha or elsewhere, a draft
on Gen Colton, it it was a
Henry draft. He did some-
times draw money in that
way.
Q You think that is for
his salary and expenses?
A Yes sir. Probably expenses.
My recollection was that he
was to get $250 a month and
his expenses as General agent
while he was in the Employ
of the Company.
