A. I think so, — all except the twenty
miles northward from San Jose.

A. That was already built.

came from for the building and equip=
=ment of that road — the Western Pacific?

A. Well, I think we got a good many
of the ties — or the most of them — from West Evans.

Q. 705 Who paid for them?

A. He was paid by the Contract and
Finance Company.

Q. 706 And the rails?

A. The rails were got from different
manufactories in the Atlantic states.

Q. 707 Were not those rails purchased
from the manufactories you refer to by
C. P. Huntington?
