and my rescue by going
for "Betty" while we waited at
the Station. Had to play
bridge most of the afternoon over
here today. Luck was very
much against me but having
been lucky in another
channel I wouldn't expect
it[crossed out] to have it in everything.

Gave my knee a twist
in tennis yesterday. A
manager keep me waiting so
long this morning that I
lost my appointment with
the doctor and he couldn't have
me till tomorrow. Not being
serious I guess I won't die.

I am a poor tennis player
but there seem to be poorer. I
beat Marjorie about six games to
two in about twenty minutes.

Then I had to head for home
and the city to lunch with
"Miss Howell" and later go to the
Maitland. All this being yesterday.
Roberta L. is doing some play ground
work this month. Hence so many
engagements.

Sincerely
Doris.
