Fun to see the Frenchmen
take to cover. Roads were
very crowded. Movement
of trupes [troops] and canon [cannon]
everywhere. Saw lots
of heavy artilery [artillery]. -- Penland
got caught between two
cars when trying to pull
one of ours out of a smash
up with a camionet. He
was taken to a hospital
in Soissons. Perhaps
some ribs broken.
Very tired tonight as it
was extremely dusty from
all the traffic.

Left camp at four o'clock
on a trip to Soupir. Saw
some "320" on their trucks
at Bozoches.
