I saw many grewsome
sights amongst the wounded.
There were both French and
German wounded in the
ambulances. Most of the
men's clothes were soaked in
blood. I saw one poor fellow
riding on the seat with the
driver and half of his face
seemed to be shot away. On
our way back we passed a
bunch of wounded Germans
just as they were turning into
the hospital on the Soissons
