In and in consideration of the sum of Twenty nine hundred & seventy seven dollars I. Seth Wheatley, President of the Farmers & Merchants Bank of Memphis hereby bargain & sell to Wade H. Bolton the following negro slaves viz: Lewis, George, Andrew, Jim, Dinah & John and hereby warrant and defend the title to said slaves to the said Bolton & slaves for life Witness my hand this 29 April 1843 Witness Th. Pittman Jr. B. Taliaferro S. Wheatley Presidt. Farmers & Merchants Bank Memphis

State of Tennesse Shelby County S.S. } Personally appeared before me Jno. W. Fuller Clerk of the County Court of said County. S. Wheatley, President of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Memphis - the bargainer above named with whom I am personally acquainted & also acknowledged the execution of the above named Bill of Sale for the purposes therein contained - Witness my hand at office April 29th 1843 - Jno W.
