Sacramento, March 28, 1900

The board of officers of the Congregation B'nai Israel
met in the synagogue at 8 P.M. Mr. Albert Elkus
president, presiding.
Roll called and Messrs. Sam Lavenson, A. Bonheim
& H. Fraley noted absent.

The resignations of Mr. A. Cahen and M. Glickman
were accepted.

Mr. Myer Clark was elected a member of the congregation. [Note]
The president suggested that that part of the
cemetery where the house was situated should
be laid out in plots. On motion, Mr. L. Heilbron,
chairman of the cemetery committee, was
authorized to ascertain the cost of having same
done & report at the next meeting.

Mr. Moses S. Lavenson was added to the cemetery
committee in the absence of Mr. Sam Lavenson.

The building committee was instructed to
have the clocks & other things which required
to be fixed to have it done, also to purchase
lamps for incandescent lights, & purchase a carpet
sweeper & door mat.

On motion, it was ordered that a vote of thanks be
tendered to Rev. Jacob Voorsanger for the lecture
delivered on the 7th inst. [Note 2]

It was duly moved & seconded that a letter of
condolence be addressed to Mrs. Isaac Wise, the widow
of the late Rev. Isaac Wise who died a few days ago. [Note 3]

The secretary reported that he received from
the president $80.00 balance due for the
plot sold to the Korn family.

On motion it was ordered that a reception be tendered
to our Rabbi, W.H. Greenburg on next Wednesday
evening & the secretary instructed to send out
