Wed May 21 Just as nice as ever it could be. Lew started up to the hills this morning to do some work up there. Dave planted corn after helping me awhile at plowing. I plowed and prepared the ground and put in some peas and pop corn and Mother dropped it.

Thurs May 22 Weather quite changeable and it rained a little in the afternoon. Dave and I had to go up and fix the ditch where it was running into ours then he planted corn some and I plowed some.

Fri May 23 A good average day. Dave and I went to town in the forenoon and got a new hoe and shovel. Dave finished planting the big piece of corn in the afternoon. I plowed and after he got done he plowed awhile.

Sat May 24 Quite nice to day. Dave finished preparing the piece between the house and barn for planting and then in the afternoon he went up to the Spring canion [canyon] Ranch and took up some alfalfa seed and corn. I attended to the irrigating and set out a lot of apple and pear slips and in the afternoon planted some sweet corn peas and case knife beans.

Sun May 25th Pretty fine to day. Dave came home just at night but left the team at Collins. Some body had taken them so he had not time to wait for them to tire them out. The rest of us kept Sunday as well as we could.

Mon May 26 Pretty fair day to day. Dave worked at the piece of ground that lies west and north of the lake got it plowed then plowed the little strip East of the lake. I planted the piece between the house and barn to beans sweet corn watermelons and muskmelons in the afternoon. I tended the water and some other chores.

Tues May 27 Pretty nice day. Dave harrowed in some alfalfa seed north of the house and got the piece west of the house ready for planting in the forenoon. I sowed the alfalfa seed then irrigated until noon then in the afternoon planted some popcorn some punkin [pumpkin] seed and some squash seed.

Wed May 28 Pretty nice only the wind blew pretty breezy in the afternoon. Aggie and I finished planting the piece west of the windy hill house in the forenoon and in the afternoon I irrigated. Dave went to town and sent off the butter and brought back 18 or 20 lbs. Lew came home this afternoon.

Thurs May 29 Pretty fair only the wind blowed pretty hard most of the afternoon. Lew fixed the ditch North of J K field in the forenoon and worked at the ditches on the windy hill place in the afternoon. I finished the orchard and turned the water onto the wheat north of the house and made good progress on the piece East of the lake.

Friday May 30 A very fine day. Lew worked at the windy hill ditches 1/2 a day with team and to day [today] with shovel. I put in my time irrigating on the wheat north of the house and the alfalfa East of the lake. Dave Meda and Plummer went to town to the Decaration [Decoration].

Sat May 31 Quite nice. Lew went over and worked on the Dry Creek Lateral along by Mrs Habnses place. Dave went to town with Dandy and the cart. Went via Tafts about 7 miles made the trip in about 45 minutes. I irrigated on the wheat north of the house and on the ten acre piece of alfalfa. [Vertical on right side from top:] Lew and team worked on dry creek lateral.
